PDA Applications

The application for the PDAs was carried out in the outdoor area of the Sigri Petrified Forest Museum in Lesvos, as well as in Nea Kameni, Santorini, particularly at points of interest (volcanic craters, fumaroles, volcanic domes, lava flows).
Specifically, the visitor, using a Personal Data Assistant (PDA), has the ability to electronically navigate points of interest with the help of interactive maps and multimedia/hypermedia information received on their device (in 2 languages - Greek and English) either automatically (when approaching a point of interest), on demand, or based on a predetermined tour scenario. The recognition of the visitor-user's location was achieved through a satellite GPS (Global Positioning System).
